The company has been working on the Advancement Project since 2023, expanding and reorganising production lines, constructing a new quality assurance centre and a new receiving building, developing an updated office structure and transforming the plant into a smart facility. Production and logistics have been streamlined under an integrated factory system, while a real-time product tracking system has been introduced, to optimise workflow and overall efficiency.
Scrap & Steel Removal
The excavators were put to work on the power plant construction project, which ran from August 2024 to December 2025 and involved, among other things, the removal of 25,000 tons of scrap steel and 40,000 tons of concrete. For these demanding tasks, AWR Managing Director Ilmi Viqa selected the Hyundai HX800 and HX1000 equipped with 5.5 m³ buckets and a powerful SH1500R shear from MBI.
Customer Viqa states:
“The special features that drew us to the Hyundai machines are their robust steel construction, efficient fuel consumption and, just as importantly, the excellent service and availability provided by our dealer and rental partner, CR Rental.”
Reliability and efficiency are critical on a complex, fast-moving site of this scale. Viqa specifies a maximum response time of 1.5 hours for repairs, a requirement consistently met through the close cooperation between Hyundai and CR Rental. In terms of fuel efficiency, the on-board computer of the HX1000A shows a consumption of just 38 l/h in Powerplus mode when using the shear, an excellent figure for a machine of this size. Operators have praised the precise control of the excavators, while Viqa highlights the low total cost of ownership in scrap removal applications.
Long-lasting Partnership
AWR has been working successfully with Hyundai for around three years through its partnership with CR Construction Rental, one of Hyundai’s key account customers in Germany. CR Rental provides nationwide rental solutions, offering flexible and short-notice availability of machines ranging from mini excavators to large demolition units, with operators supplied if required.
All rental machines are equipped as standard with OilQuick quick couplers, enabling fast and safe changes between sorting grapples, digging buckets, hammers and scrap or concrete shears. As Lukas Giancane, Managing Director of CR Construction Rental, puts it: “We don’t say no.”
